Bring Two Bottles of Liquor

We're asking everyone to bring two bottles of liquor: one for the yacht excursion and one for yourself. This ensures we're well-stocked for our private yacht day and you have your preferred spirits for the trip!

Duty-Free Recommendation: If you choose to buy duty-free liquor, we recommend purchasing at your American departure airport rather than in Cartagena. American duty-free shops typically have better selection and prices.

⏰ Critical Timing Information:

  • Purchase at least 45 minutes before flight departure
  • Liquor is delivered directly to your gate when boarding
  • Make this one of the first things you do after security
  • Choose a duty-free shop close to your gate - shops far from your gate may refuse service due to delivery logistics
  • Especially important if you have a connecting flight

Packing Essentials

  • Lightweight & Breathable Clothing: Cartagena is hot and humid! Pack linen, cotton, and other light fabrics.
  • Swimwear: For the villa pool, yacht, and beach clubs.
  • Sun Protection: Sunscreen (high SPF!), hats, sunglasses are crucial.
  • Comfortable Walking Shoes: For exploring the Walled City's cobblestone streets.
  • Dressy Casual Attire: For nightlife and nice dinners. Think stylish shorts/linen pants, collared shirts.
  • Bug Spray: Especially for evenings.
  • Portable Power Bank: To keep your devices charged on the go.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I bring cash?

Yes, you should bring at least $500 in US Dollars to cover various activities, tips, and small purchases.

Should I use US dollars in Cartagena?

No, it is highly recommended that you exchange your US Dollars for Colombian Pesos. DO NOT exchange your currency at the airport as you will receive a poor exchange rate. We have a concierge who can arrange for a currency exchange service to come to the villa and provide a much better rate. It's always best to exchange your currency locally.

How will I be able to get around?

In many cases, we will be traveling as a group, so a van will be available for transportation. For other trips, Uber and taxis are readily available and widely used. Uber may often be more cost-effective than taxi cabs.
